holiday amaretto drinks

When it comes to the Holidays celebrating with friends comes with the territory. Whether you are the hostess or a guest enjoying a festive cocktail having something fresh in your arsenal can add some fun to your event.

I was recently sent a limited edition Disaronno Wears Cavalli bottle of Amaretto. It is the third collaboration of Disaronno and Cavalli and this bottle is inspired by the Cavalli SS15 collection. Disaronno donates part of the proceeds from the sale of this bottle to the Fashion 4 Development program which uses fashion to tackle issues in the developing world.

I haven’t spent much time drinking amaretto cocktails so I had to do some research before I started concocting different drinks.

I came up three different options all of which are super easy to create yourself and would be perfect for your next Holiday party.

  1. Cranberry Kiss

Traditionally the Amaretto Cranberry Kiss is made with vodka and amaretto. But I switched up the recipe to use raspberry rum, the results were delicious.

To create the Amaretto Rum Cranberry Kiss you need a shot of Raspberry Rum (regular rum would work too but the fruity flavour really works well) and one shot of Disaronno. Add a splash of orange juice and fill the rest of your glass with cranberry cocktail.

This turned out to be the best tasting punch I have had. Better than the non alcohol version I usually make with cranberry juice, orange juice and ginger ale.

2. Spiked Apple Cider

This one is so  easy and really so good. Just take a glass of apple cider and add a shot of Disaronno. The combination is great! Perfect to have on hand after a snowball fight or skating outdoors.

3. Spiked Hot Chocolate

This is probably my favourite of the 3 cocktails I tried. And Hot Chocolate bars are so in right now. Make sure to stock yours with some Disaronno. I am all about marshmallows for the kids and a shot of amaretto for me. Perfect way to relax after a long day.

You can find the #DisaronnowearsCavalli bottles at the LCBO or wherever alcohol is sold near you.

I was sent a bottle of Disaronno to try, all the opinions herein are my own.
