Lets Talk Bums with Cottonelle

As fashion and beauty bloggers we often put plenty of emphasis on our outward appearance. How to style outfits, how to create a certain hairstyle or get that perfect smokey eye. But looking our best extends beyond our face, hair and clothing.

Usually this is where someone says confidence trumps natural beauty and while I think this is true it goes even further. In order to feel confident we have to feel good. Not just feel good about ourselves inwardly but outwardly as well. If we have a cold it is hard to look our best as we don’t feel our best.

Same goes for other parts of our body; including our bums.

As a mom of 2, including one that is still in diapers, I have talked about bums quite a bit. I mean in the first month of life how often do new moms talk about their newborn babies’ bottom? Quite a bit let me tell you. We worry about the right kind of wipes, diaper rash, how to wipe properly.

But that concern and openness about our bums seems to disappear once we are potty trained and grow up.
But have you ever not wiped properly? Or used half a roll of toilet paper to get your bum feeling clean again? Yea, me too.

It is not pleasant. It can leave you feeling sore and uncomfortable. Leave you not feeling your best and your confidence is out the window.

That is why I agreed to test out the new Cottonelle Care Routine which includes Cottonelle Toilet Paper and Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths.

But every time I went to grab more toilet paper in order to get clean I made sure to reach for a cleansing cloth instead. What I liked about this was that you were actually wiping to get clean. Not wiping leaving something left over to be washed in the shower or bath at a later time.

This is especially relevant when it is that time of the month or you are having a particularly messy bowl movement. No more using so much toilet paper you clog the toilet just to get cleaned up properly. All you need is a cleansing cloth, maybe two.

The cleansing cloths themselves are alcohol-free, sewer and septic system safe. 90 percent of the Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing cloths are wood pulp and water but do include mild skin cleansers and emollients.

My oldest who is potty trained liked using the cleansing cloths as well. I find with preschoolers and kindergartners that even though they are potty trained getting them to wipe properly can be a challenge. The cleansing cloths make that easier for both child and Mom.

Before testing out the Cottonelle Care Routine I wouldn’t have really given much thought to using wet wipes for myself. Now I think they are a great item to have sitting in the bathroom for those particularly messy visits; not only for myself, but for my kids too. Because we all want to have that clean feeling so we can go about our day feeling our best and exuding confidence.
