Valentine’s Day Gifts; Red, Hearts & Arrows

Valentine’s Day is coming up and traditionally gifts range from chocolate, flowers (roses in particular) and jewellery.

Valentine’s Day is all about love and sometimes the way we express that is though the gifts we give. Think hearts, red or even cupid’s arrow. All super fun ways to say I LOVE YOU on Valentine’s Day.

One thing I remember talking to my girl friends about before we were all married was how we hoped that the guys in our lives wouldn’t propose on cliché dates like Valentine’s or Christmas. I get why guys do it. They just dropped 2 months salary (more or less) on a ring and they don’t feel like they need to get another gift. Sure. But we always thought it would be great to have our engagement as a special day of its own, separate from standard holidays.

Fast forward a few years and I got engaged on Christmas, and my bestie was engaged on Valentines (or was it her birthday?). Either way I still think guys (hey you listen up) should grab something inexpensive (or relatively less expensive) on Valentines and get engaged in March.

What do you think? Which Valentine’s cliché do you prefer? A heart necklace or an engagement ring? (ok now I get it…)
