Picasso, his women and what I wore to the Art Gallery of Ontario

I feel very cultured today. My friend Kate and I took advantage of the Picasso Exhibit at the AGO and took in Picasso’s work. The exhibit is usually housed at the Musee National Picasso in Paris, but they are on tour and currently in Toronto.

I picked up this dress at La Boutique Parpar on St. Clair West after profiling them for my main website. They actually had a bogo event so I got 2 dresses for less than $100.

This outfit has in fact been on repeat. I wore it Saturday for a Trunk Show in Leslieville and again on Sunday for the Art Gallery. I just made sure to take it off and keep it clean for repeat wearing!

The Picasso Exhibit was really interesting. Lots of paintings that take you though a number of different phases in Picasso’s works, like his phases in Cubism and Realism.

It also takes you through his tumultuous love life with two wives and at least 2 mistresses. It was interesting to see how each of these women were depicted in his paintings and sculptures.

You could tell the tourists versus the locals in the way they were dressed. Most obviously were the backpacks. If you are looking to keep your belongings with you, take a purse or tote as backpacks (even small ones) have to be checked but I didn’t have to check my purse.

OMG, I love that dress...cute summery print and in a lovely vibrant color too! So cute. I must admit, I haven't been keeping up with all the exhibits all over Toronto this year. I even forgot about this Picasso exhibit at the AGO, so thanks for the reminder. My sister has been dying to go, so I guess we could have a sibling date before the exhibit is gone! Oh by the way, the dinosaurs are still at the ROM.

Usually I am terrible about taking advantage of what the city has to offer. So need to take my daughter to see the dinosaurs!
